Dry Needling, Manual Therapy, E-Stim, Ultrasound
Our therapeutic interventions and therapies include:
Manual Therapy
The application of therapeutic techniques using the hands, such as soft tissue and joint mobilization, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation, Muscle Energy Technique, and Craniosacral Therapy, requires advanced skills. A specialty of our practice, manual therapy, or manual medicine, promotes deep healing and recovery.
Customized Exercise Program
A carefully crafted and customized exercise program can play an important role in rehabilitation, helping to optimize treatment. We take our clients’ individual needs and goals into account when we design these programs and provide the guidance necessary for successful implementation.
Biofeedback
Biofeedback helps you learn to control your body’s reactions and functions, for instance, relaxing certain muscles, through monitored feedback. Biofeedback helps support improved function and performance, as well as improved strength.
Dry Needling
A pain relief treatment in which a thin, monofilament needle is inserted into a contracted muscle, or myofascial trigger point, to stimulate a ‘twitch’ reflex, Dry Needling initiates recovery. Dry Needling can help improve pain control, flexibility, and muscle function, as well as reduce muscle tension or spasms.
Electrical Stimulation (E-Stim)
Based on the science that our muscles respond to electrical impulses, this process uses carefully placed electrodes to initiate muscle contractions. E-stim assists with reducing pain and/or swelling, strengthening muscle, stimulating tissue, and controlling edema. Iontophoresis, a technique that also uses an electric current, delivers certain medicines through the skin; it is especially useful in treating muscle and joint inflammation and irritation, such as bursitis and tendinitis, and in loosening scar tissue.
Therapeutic Ultrasound
A noninvasive treatment, therapeutic ultrasound utilizes sound waves and vibrations to create heat within injured or affected tissue. This results in stimulated blood flow, which promotes tissue healing. To enhance the delivery and absorption of certain medications, Phonophoresis uses ultrasound waves to drive medication into affected tissue over an irritated area.
Pilates
Builds Core Strength, Helps Improve Pelvic Floor Health, Can reduce Diastasis Recti, Restore Proper Posture. The Pilates principles of core stabilization address posture, breathing, muscle performance and motor control. Pilates sessions break down faulty movement patterns and enable the practitioner to work on new movement strategies.
